NEW CLIENTS

New to VERVE? We are stoked to sweat with you!

Here is everything you need to know to book your bike, prep for class, show up and ride!

Sign-ups
You can reserve classes up to 7 days in advance of the scheduled class. To sign-up, purchase a single class or a class series and book a spot online, in studio, or give us a call. Buy classes here.

Cancellations
We value accountability! If you make a reservation, be sure you can show up for your class. As a courtesy to our instructors and staff, we cannot accommodate same-day cancellations or class switches. If you need to cancel your spot, please cancel by 5:00pm the day before your scheduled class. Login to your account online or in the VERVE Studios app to cancel your spot or call the studio at 858-925-7340. If you late cancel or no-show, you will forfeit the class credit. If you booked with an unlimited pass, you will incur a $15 penalty fee.

Assign Spot in Studio

If a class is full, there may be an option to book a “Standby Bike” and have your bike spot assigned in studio. Your spot is confirmed and your bike will be assigned to you at check-in.

Add to Waitlist

If a class is full, you can choose to be added to our waitlist. If you get a spot, you’ll receive an email confirmation. If you get a spot within 12 hours of the scheduled class, we will call you to confirm.

FUEL
Hydrate before, during, and after class with water or an electrolyte beverage. Be sure you have eaten within the hour before class. Easy digestible foods like carbohydrates and lean proteins are best.

ATTIRE
Sport a tee or tank on top and form-fitting pants or shorts on bottom. Please wear socks. We have apparel for purchase in our lifestyle shop if you forget any workout essentials!

ARRIVE EARLY
Arrive 15 minutes before class starts and let our Studio Coordinators know you are a new rider so we can introduce you to our studio and class method.

SIGN-IN
Be sure to initial our class sign-in sheet so we know you are in the house! Your bike will be released to riders on the waitlist approximately 4 minutes before class begins. If you are running late, please call the studio and let us know you are on the way. Our front desk team will hold your bike for up to 10 minutes after class begins, although we cannot guarantee it will be the same one you signed up for. As a courtesy to your instructor and your fellow riders, if you arrive more than 10 minutes after class begins, you will not be allowed in class — it disrupts the class vibe.

NEW CLIENT WAIVER
Fill out a New Client Waiver and review our Safety Instructions when you arrive, or download the form here and bring it with you. You must be at least 13 years old and a height of 4’11” to take a class. Note: Riders under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver in person!

SHOES
For VERVECYCLE, you must wear indoor cycling shoes. Clip in once, and you’ll never want to go back! It’s safer, smoother, and allows you to activate all the major muscles in your lower extremities. Our pedals accept Look Delta and SPD clips. Don’t have shoes? It’s all good! Shoe rentals are just $3.

TOWELS
In line with our commitment to sustainability and the environment, we kindly request that you bring your own sweat towel to class. Alternatively, you have the option to purchase a towel in-studio. For your convenience, bath towels can also be rented for $3, although we strongly encourage you to bring your own to help reduce waste. Thank you for supporting our eco-friendly initiatives.

WATER

Join us in our mission to protect our planet by bringing a reusable water bottle to refill at our filtered water stations. In case you forget your water bottle, rest assured, we offer BOXED Water for purchase at $4. This 100% purified water contains no added minerals, is completely recyclable, and can be refilled with a bit of common-sense care. Thank you for helping us reduce single-use plastic waste and support sustainability.

SHOWERS
Showers are available at our Del Mar studio on a first come, first serve basis. Our studios showers are stocked with Malin + Goetz hair and body care products. Please bring your own bath towel or you can rent a bath towel for $3.

THE VERVE BIKE
Our VERVE Studios bike is a custom Stages SC2 Indoor Bike featuring magnetic resistance, carbon drive, and Sprintshift. Our pedals accept SPD and Look Delta clips. It’s the ultimate bike for rhythm-based movement! Get ready to hit the best tap-back, push-up of your life.

GET SET UP
Adjust the seat height, fore/aft seat position, and handlebar height to fit your settings. If you’re new to VERVE Studios, our Studio Coordinators will be in the bike room to help you set up safely.

SAFETY

VERVE STUDIOS classes are high-intensity, cardiovascular, and vigorous workouts. Talk to your doctor before starting a new fitness routine, especially if you are new to exercise. Ask VERVE staff for bike set up assistance. Make sure your bike settings are secured and your feet are clipped into the pedals before you begin riding. Stay hydrated throughout class and fill up your water bottle on the way out. If you experience any unusual symptoms after class, do not hesitate to seek medical attention.

Make sure your bike is set up properly and all settings (seat height, seat fore-and-aft, and handlebar) are secure.

The height requirement to take class is 4’ 11” or taller. Individuals under 4’11” are not permitted to ride.

Do not insert any object, hands or feet into any openings, or expose hands, arms or feet to the drive mechanism or other potentially moving part of the bike. Do not turn the pedal crank arm by hand.

The maximum weight for individuals riding should not exceed 350 pounds (159 kilograms).

VERVE bikes have a weighted flywheel and a fixed gear. To stop, slow your pedal strokes gradually or push the resistance knob down. Do not get off the bike or remove your feet from the pedals until the flywheel has completely stopped. Failure to comply may lead to loss of control and serious injury.

After exercising, turn the resistance knob to increased resistance so the pedals do not rotate on their own and potentially injure you or someone else.

If at any time you feel dizzy or have difficulty breathing, gradually stop pedaling and carefully dismount the bike.

Listen to your body, ride at your own pace, and use appropriate resistance based on your fitness level. Always ride with resistance while seated or in standing positions on the bike.

Children and pets are not allowed in the bike room.

Stay hydrated. Drink water before, during, and after your ride as needed.

Be mindful of your form, posture, and pedal strokes during class. Create smooth transitions between hand positions and movements on the bike.

Cycling shoes are required in class at VERVE. Non-cycling shoes are not permitted. No bare feet in class.

Keep your your feet clipped into the pedals at all times. If you unclip from the pedals while riding, move your feet away from the bike frame and push down on your resistance knob to stop the wheel.

Keep at least 10” on either side of your bike clear. Do not place any belongings on the floor around your bike.
